Tips:
• Conceal the Bodies
Veterans of Assassin’s Creed already understand how crucial it is to hide bodies after a kill. If you're new to the series, remember that leaving corpses in plain sight is a surefire way to alert enemies to your presence. They'll begin searching for you, making stealth much harder. That said, sometimes a visible body can serve as bait—drawing enemies right into your trap.
• Always Check for Loot
Not every fallen enemy carries loot, but it's always worth checking. Loot can include valuable resources, rations, or items you can sell for Mon. Since you’ve already gone through the trouble of eliminating a target, make sure to collect any potential rewards.
• Pet Animals to Collect Them
Many animals in Assassin's Creed Shadows can be petted—and doing so unlocks them as potential pets for your Hideout. Keep in mind, though, that you only unlock the specific color variant you pet. For example, if you want a black dog, you'll need to find and pet a black dog—not just any dog.
• Reserve Scouts for Resource Runs
As seasons change, you’ll gain the ability to dispatch multiple scouts. These scouts help you locate objectives, but if you use them all too quickly, you might miss out on major resource caches. Some stashes can only be smuggled with scouts on hand, so always save a few for these opportunities. This ensures you have enough supplies to develop your Hideout and progress smoothly.
• Use Shadows and Weather to Your Advantage
Darkness and weather conditions like rain or fog can help you stay hidden. Stick to the shadows, use tall grass or reeds for cover, and time your movements carefully. Enemies are less alert during poor visibility, so take advantage of the environment.
• Upgrade Your Hideout
Don’t neglect your base. Improving your Hideout unlocks new features, such as access to craftsmen, better training options, and useful upgrades. A well-developed base gives you more tools and support for taking on tougher missions.
• Stealth Kills Save Resources
Whenever possible, eliminate enemies silently. Stealth kills preserve ammo, avoid raising alarms, and allow you to move through areas more efficiently. It’s also less risky than going in loud.
• Master Both Characters’ Skills
If the game features dual protagonists, make sure to learn the strengths and abilities of both. One may be better for stealth, while the other excels in open combat. Switch between them strategically depending on the mission.
• Scout Enemy Camps Before Attacking
Take time to observe enemy camps or fortresses from a distance. Mark enemy positions, look for entry points, and plan your approach. A well-planned infiltration is often safer and more rewarding than rushing in blindly.
• Synchronize Viewpoints Early
Climbing synchronization points not only reveals parts of the map but also fast travel locations. The more you unlock early on, the easier it’ll be to move quickly across Japan and plan your missions more efficiently.
• Manage Your Stamina and Resolve
In combat, stamina and resolve are critical. Don’t spam attacks—time them wisely. Use resolve to heal when needed or to unleash powerful special moves. Running out at the wrong time can cost you a fight.
• Mix Up Combat Styles
Experiment with different weapons and techniques. Some enemies are weak to certain weapon types or fighting styles. Switching it up not only makes combat more fun but also more effective against tougher foes.
• Use Distractions and Gadgets
Smoke bombs, noise makers, and other tools can turn the tide in your favor. Distract guards to slip past them or lure enemies into traps. Creative use of gadgets can help you avoid direct confrontation altogether.
• Complete Side Quests and Explore
Side missions often reward you with gear, resources, or character upgrades. They also flesh out the world and story, making your experience richer. Don’t rush the main storyline—exploration often pays off.
• Watch Enemy Patterns
Whether you're sneaking into a castle or a village, take a moment to study enemy patrols. Timing your movements based on guard routes can help you avoid detection and make your assassinations smoother.
• Rest Between Seasons
If the game includes seasonal cycles, be mindful of how the world changes with each one. Certain quests, enemies, or events might only appear during specific times of year. Use downtime to upgrade gear, gather supplies, or train.
