The archive contains my complete playthrough of the game, which took about 20 hours of real-time.
Key feature: step-by-step saves. You can load any point in the story to replay favorite episodes, collect missed items, or explore locations.
Saves
Upload the file, insert images, and a description.
Installation instructions:
Download the archive with the save files (win64_save.zip).
Unzip the archive contents to any convenient location.
Copy the extracted files to your Steam saves folder, making sure to confirm that you want to replace existing files. Where are my saves located:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your Steam ID]\3764200\remote
💡 Please note: The [Your Steam ID] folder (in my example, it's 455259734) is your account's unique number; these numbers are different for each user. However, the next folder, 3764200 (the game's ID), is the same for everyone.
Here's a prepared instruction text that you can add to the description or send to the user. It's written in simple language and takes into account the specifics of account linking.
🛠 What to do if saves aren't visible in the game (Solution)
If you've uploaded files, but the game doesn't see them or displays "Data corrupted," this means the protection has been triggered: the saves are linked to my Steam ID. For them to work, you need to "re-sign" them to your account.
Method 1: Using a program (Easiest)
For Resident Evil games (and many others using this engine), use the RE Save Editor or Save Resigner utility.
Caution! I recommend searching for and using the RE Save Editor utility specifically for Resident Evil 9. Remember: each program is designed for its specific installment in the series.
Don't use older versions of software from Resident Evil 7 or 8—they may not work. Look for the latest version specifically for Resident Evil 9 to correctly re-sign the save file to your Steam ID.
Download any utility for re-signing RE save files (for example, FluffyQuack or similar).
Specify the path to the downloaded files from my archive.
In the program, enter your Steam ID (these are the numbers from the name of your folder in userdata).
Click Resign or Patch. After that, the files will be "yours."
Method 2: Bypass via Steam Cloud (Often helps)
Disable Steam Cloud: Right-click the game in Steam -> Properties -> General -> Uncheck "Sync with Steam Cloud."
Launch the game and create one new save slot (just start the game and reach the first checkpoint).
Close the game completely.
Now replace the file you created with the file from the archive, but be sure to rename my file exactly the same as your newly created one (for example, if you created data001.bin, my file should have the same name).
Method 3: For advanced users (HEX editor)
Open any HEX editor (for example, HxD).
Open your working save file and my file from the archive.
Find the line with the Steam ID in your file (usually at the very beginning), copy these bytes, and paste them into the same place in my file. Save.
💡 Tip: Once your saves appear in the game, you can turn on Steam Cloud again. It will prompt you to sync, select "Upload local files to the cloud."
